What Are The Parts of EOT Crane?
The overhead crane is generally composed of bridge frame, hoist trolley, crane travelling mechanism, control room and electrical system.
Bridge Frame
The bridge frame is composed of the main beam, end beam, walking platform and other parts, which is the main load-bearing component of the crane.
According to the number of the main beam, the bridge can be divided into single girder bridge and double girder bridge; according to the relative position of the crane and the track, the crane can be divide into top running crane mounting on the top of the runway beam and underslung crane running along the lower flange of the track beam.
In addition to the main beam and end beam, some bridge cranes are equipped with walking platforms and safety railings.
Hoist Trolley
Hoist trolley is installed on the bridge rails and moves along the bridge direction.
The trolley is mainly composed of trolley frame, trolley travelling mechanism and lifting mechanism.
Bridge cranes with a lifting capacity of less than 15t are generally equipped with only one lifting mechanism, while those with a lifting capacity of 15t or more are generally equipped with two sets, namely the main hook and the auxiliary hook.
In addition to hooks, common lifting devices include grabs, electromagnetic chucks, metallurgical lifting attachments, etc.
The safety protection devices of the lifting mechanism include overload limiter, lifting height limiter, overspeed protection switch and safety brake.
Crane Travelling Mechanism
The crane travelling mechanism uses two independent drive systems to drive the crane separately.
The transmission type of the crane running mechanism:
A motor drives a reducer through a gear coupling and a transmission shaft. The low-speed shaft of the reducer is connected to the wheel shaft with a coupling, and the driving wheel ratio is 1:2. When starting, the driving wheel does not slip, and when braking, it is stable and reliable. This structural arrangement is conducive to the installation, maintenance and disassembly of the components of the drive system.
Control Room
It adopts a closed, toughened glass driver’s cab.
In order to ensure a wide view of the operator, tempered glass is installed on the upper front, lower front side and rear wall of the driver’s cab.
The framework of the cabin is welded by rolled steel and stamped thin steel plates, and the floor surface is covered with insulating rubber carpets.
Both the inside and outside of the glass can be wiped conveniently.
An alarm is also set up in the driver’s cabin to ensure the safe operation of the crane.
Electrical System
The standard power supply of our eot cranes is three-phase AC, the rated voltage is 380V, and the rated frequency is 50Hz. It can also be designed according to user requirements.
Electrical protection system includes:

How to Operate Overhead Crane?
Overhead crane can be operated in the driver’s cabin, through pushbutton pendant or wireless remote control.
Cabin operation means that the crane driver operates the crane through handles, buttons, etc. in the control room.
Wired or wireless remote operation is achieved through wired pendant or wireless handles.
How Do EOT Cranes Work?
The bridge frame runs longitudinally along the tracks laid on the elevated runway beams on both sides, and the hoisting trolley runs laterally along the tracks laid on the bridge frame, forming a rectangular working space, which can make full use of the space under the bridge without obstructed by ground equipment.
Although there are different types and models of overhead cranes, they all have a common feature, that is, the cyclic and intermittent working mode.
A working cycle generally includes: the material is lifted by the lifting and lowering of the fetching device, and then moving in the opposite direction to return to the original position or another position in order to carry out the next working cycle. In between, there is usually a short interval.
