Main Components of Warehouse Gantry Crane

Gantry crane is mainly composed of gantry frame (main beam, end beam, leg, lower beam, trolley running track and cab, etc.), lifting trolley, crane running mechanism and electrical control system.
Gantry Frame
Main beam
- The main girder is a normal or off-track box structure.
- The section of the main girder adopts ANSYS finite element calculation method for systematic analysis and calculation to ensure that it has sufficient strength, rigidity and overall stability.
End beam
- The end beam is a box-shaped structure, and the connection between the end beam and the main beam is a rigid connection.
- In order to facilitate transportation, the main and end beam are connected by high-strength bolts. Each connecting plate is positioned with reamed bolts, and the positioning check mark has been made at the factory.
Leg
- The upper flange of the support leg is connected with the main beam flange support through high-strength bolts, and the lower flange of the leg and the upper connecting flange of the lower crossbeam are connected by high-strength bolts.
- When the gantry crane span S<35m, the rigid leg structure on both sides is used to control the upper bridge frame and the overall stability of the crane.
- When the crane span S≥35m, one side adopts the structure of rigid leg and the other side adopts flexible leg, which can eliminate the deflection and deformation of the main beam and increase the flexibility of the crane.
Lower beam
- The lower beam is a structural member that carries the weight of the crane and the lifting load.
- The upper part of the lower beam and the lower part of the leg are connected by bolts, and the force is transmitted to the foundation track through the four-corner wheels to ensure the stability of the gantry.
- The lower beam is a box-shaped composite beam formed by welding and splicing steel plates, which has a stable structure and strong bearing capacity.
Trolley track
- The trolley track adopts the whole track with joints welded together to ensure that the trolley runs well.
Cabin
- The driver’s cab is the working place where the operator controls the crane, and it adopts a closed, toughened glass cab.
- An alarm is also set up in the driver’s cabin to ensure the safe operation of the crane.
- The layouts in the driver’s cabin fully consider the convenience for inspection, maintenance, and operation, as well as the smoothness of movement.
Lifting Trolley
Lifting mechanism
- It is the most important and basic mechanism in the crane.
- The fetching device has various forms such as hooks, rings, grabs, electromagnetic chucks, spreaders and hanging beams.
- Safety protection devices include overload limiter, lifting height limiter, overspeed protection switch and safety brake.
- The hoisting mechanism adopts a series resistance speed regulation system, which has stable starting and braking, small impact, and accurate positioning of the hook, greatly improving the production efficiency and extending the service life of the parts of the hoisting mechanism.
- The components of the lifting mechanism are compactly arranged, easy to maintain, safe and reliable.
Trolley operating mechanism
- The operating mechanism is the power device that drives the lifting trolley. In order to improve the working efficiency of the crane, the speed is generally faster.
- In order to ensure the synchronization of the driving wheels of the hoisting trolley and avoid equipment failure and safety accidents due to the trolley gnawing the track, the trolley operating mechanism is often driven by a low-speed shaft.
Crane Running Mechanism
The crane running mechanism uses two or more independent drive systems to drive the crane separately.
The transmission type of the crane running drive system is:
A motor drives a reducer through a gear coupling and a transmission shaft. The low-speed shaft of the reducer is connected to the wheel shaft with a coupling, and the driving wheel ratio is 1:2. When starting, the driving wheel does not slip, and when braking, it is stable and reliable.
This structural arrangement is conducive to the installation, maintenance and disassembly of the components of the drive system.
Electrical Control System
Power supply
The standard power supply of our industrial cranes is three-phase AC, the rated voltage is 380V, and the rated frequency is 50Hz. It can also be designed according to user requirements.
