Gantry Crane Maintenance

It is critical to inspecting and maintaining gantry crane equipment regularly in order to ensure high work efficiency and safety as well as extend its service life. The following are some gantry crane maintenance tips:

  • Lubrication

Various crane mechanisms should be lubricated regularly since the working performance and life of these mechanisms depend largely on lubrication.

  • Wire rope

Check the wire rope to make sure it is in good working condition. In the event of the broken wire or abrasion reaching the scrap standard, the wire rope should be replaced in time. Wire ropes that can be selected include phosphatized steel wire ropes, galvanized steel wire ropes and smooth wire ropes.

  • Hook and lifting attachments

Hook and lifting attachments should be checked regularly to make sure they are in good working conditions.

  • Pulley block

Check the wear of the rope groove, whether the rim is cracked, and whether the pulley is stuck on the shaft.

  • Wheels

Inspect the rim and tread regularly. When the rim part is worn or chipped to 10% thickness, it should be replaced with a new wheel. When the difference between the diameters of the two driving wheels on the tread exceeds D / 600, or if serious scars appear on the tread, it should be relighted.

  • Brake

Check the brake every shift. The brake should be accurate and the pin should not be jammed. The brake shoe should fit the brake wheel correctly, and the clearance should be equal when the brake is released.
