Visual inspection: visually check whether all the important parts are in conformity with the requirements.

No load test: after turning each mechanism without resistance, the motor of each mechanism should be operated, each mechanism should operate normally, the limit switch can work reliably, the car’s active wheel is in full length in the track, and the large and small car runs along the track without gnawing track and three leg phenomena.

Static load test: the purpose of static load test is to test the structural bearing capacity of the crane and its components, and the static load test of each lifting mechanism shall be carried out separately. Before the main hook performs a static load test, the empty car should be placed in the middle of the span, and the reference point should be set.

Dynamic load test: the purpose of dynamic load test is to verify the functions of crane’s agencies and brakes. Crane’s dynamic load test should be carried out first and then combined action experiment. At the same time, two mechanisms should be started, but the main and auxiliary hooks must not start at the same time.

Visual inspection, no load test, and dynamic load test are three common-sense ways to inspect an overhead’s quality.
